I’ve been reminded that our worth isn’t found in our creation, it’s found in our Creator.
I’ve been thinking a lot about creativity and the joy that comes from pursuing life-giving hobbies. I love the beauty of organizing my thoughts through writing and learning from the writings of others. Writing and hobbies are enjoyable, but it can become stressful when I place my value and “success” in productivity. I’ve been reminded that our worth isn’t found in our creation, it’s found in our Creator. Here are 4 things that have reminded me of my eternal value…
Book: Surprised by Oxford
One of my favorite books and I’m so excited for the upcoming movie. Let me know what you think!
Carolyn Weber is a believer and fantastic writer; this is one of my favorite quotes...
“Just who is your master? For we all have one. No individual, by the very state of existence, can avoid life as a form of servitude; it only remains for us to decide, deny, or remain oblivious to, whom or what we serve.”
― Carolyn Weber, Surprised by Oxford
Podcast: Heaven Rules
I loved getting to listen to this episode about, “Inviting Heaven to Rule in Your Mind” by Revive our Hearts. Dannah Gresh points out that positive affirmations aren’t working and that we need something greater.
She goes on to quote Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones,“Most of your unhappiness in life is due to the fact that you are listening to yourself instead of talking to yourself.” This resonated with me. Oftentimes I’m so caught up in my own worries that I forget to seek truth. (More on this in next week’s post…)
Journal: Well Watered Women
This beautiful journal is a great tool for journaling thoughts throughout the day.
Podcast: Sweet Tea & Jesus
I’m a big fan of podcasts and learning about others.
does a beautiful job highlighting the joys and challenges of adoption. I know several adoptive families and this opened my eyes to the challenges of becoming an adoptive parent.Thankfully there will be a day where everyone will have a home. A place where Heaven will rule our minds without a shadow of a doubt.
Can’t wait to read Surprised by Oxford! Thanks for the recommendation!
